[Jerry Jackalope - The Fishing Trip]

Congrats on getting third place, fellas!

Alright, so here's my thoughts. First of all, the writing is kinda sloppy. It's like, I could identify where a joke was, but I didn't really find them all that funny. In situations like that it's a good practice to identify what you find funny and use that style of humor in your writing. I personally like absurdist, meta-style humor, so I try to find ways to put that in my scripts. Try applying that practice in your scripts in the future. But to be fair, I could've just not found them funny because they didn't appeal to my sense of humor. It's totally possible that y'all got the whole squad laffin and I'm the weird one in this instance.

Secondly, it's very jarring to go from very smooth animation to janky, 2003-style flash animation, to decently cromulent, eddsworld-quality animation. It's kinda hard to watch because nothing seems to be done to hide it. It just goes from one skill level of animation to another. I don't really know how this can be improved other than building a more skilled creative team or taking the time to improve the skills of the one you already have. Animation takes time, yes, but you have to think about how your product is being presented and how it can be the highest quality it can be. I look back on my animated short films, ones I spent years to animate, and hate them because I can see where I could've done better.

On something a little more positive, the audio editing was done very well as well as the choice of music. I wouldn't be surprised if you just ripped that track from a ren and stimpy episode. It's very well done and probably my favorite part.
The art style is pretty nice as well, I got no gripes with it.

Take this criticism with a grain of salt. I don't really animate anymore and I've never gotten a daily third place or anything like that. Seriously though, keep working on this. I think y'all got something good going here.

this is cool, but I think it'd be better if the title was NewgrounDS collab, so it matches with the title seen in the animation, er, game... whatever this is

it looks fun. i'm excited to see where this goes!

also just an idea: i think in future updates y'all should add in other characters from the NG community to make it resonate with peeps more. don't lean too heavily into it because then you might just have a "love letter to newgrounds = game with pico in it" situation which we see constantly already, but get in some smaller animators and devs to have their characters in it or design original characters for the game. or you could do like a lottery to see which of their own characters gets in? idk i just think that would be neat.
